Dr Asante earned his medical degree from the University of Pretoria and subsequently completed his specialisation in General Surgery. He then underwent specialised training in Bariatric Surgery under the tutelage of Professor Peter Funch-Jensen through the Proventi International Bariatric Surgery Accreditation. There, he honed his exceptional surgical skills and gained extensive experience in various complex procedures.
Dr Asante is widely recognised for his expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques, which allow him to perform complex procedures with greater precision, less trauma, and quicker recovery times for his patients. He is also known for his commitment to providing personalised, compassionate care, treating each patient individually and tailoring his approach to meet their unique needs and circumstances.

Outside of his professional life, Dr Asante loves to spend quality time with his family. He enjoys travelling the world and learning more about the different cultures and destinations he visits. Dr Narainsamy has completed her undergraduate training at the University of Natal and continued postgraduate training at the same institution. Her endocrinology subspecialty training was thereafter completed at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban. She have served as an honorary lecturer and consultant physician at the University during this time. Her Masters in Medicine was also attained in 2015 when an article for which she was lead author was published in the South African Journal of Psychiatry. I have continued writing for journals, presenting at academic forums, lecturing at the diabetes training courses and for pharmaceutical events. She also serves on advisory boards as part of their expert panels. She is currently involved in general endocrinology management but her passion is diabetes management
